The hiking route develops in the southern part of the Etna territory, starting at the Rifugio Sapienza, about 1900 metres above the sea level.

During the trail you will be captivated by typical Etna sceneries, including recent lava flows and luxuriant coniferous and broad-leaved woods. You will be able to observe the typical Etna shelters, including one with a vertical lava flow cave next to it, used in the past as Neviera.
